Chief of Police - Eddie M. Kluttz, Badge# 2501

Chief E. M. Kluttz comes to the China Grove Police Department as a lifelong resident of the area. He graduated from South Rowan Senior High School and received his Bachelor Degree from Catawba College.

Chief Kluttz has an extensive career in law enforcement, beginning in 1979 with this agency. He transferred to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office in 1986 and served there until his retirement in October of 2009 where he served in the position of Staff Lieutenant / Special Projects Coordinator. He holds an Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate and has three times been honored as the Veteran Officer of the Year. Chief Kluttz is also a retired 31-year Veteran of the military where he served as a First Sergeant in the N.C. Army National Guard.

Kluttz serves as a part-time instructor with Rowan Cabarrus Community Colleges where he teaches Criminal Justice. He and his wife, Lori Webb, have three children and live in China Grove.
